A reputation is a funny animal. It precedes you without your conscious awareness. It permeates the thoughts of the person speaking to you. It leaves a perfume or a funk behind you as you leave a place.

A good reputation is to be valued over many riches and treasured. A bad or poor reputation is a problem that needs to be fixed. As soon as possible.

It is a good thing to have friends and acquaintances who protect your reputation.

I have a friend like that. :) I have more than one. I am rich.
